The alpine classic
The EVEREST# is built for the pure hunger for adventure beyond any convention. Designed for alpine adventures, fast ascents and pure moments of experience, the maneuverable wing ensures playful versatility.
The #double plus upgrade of the legendary Hike&Fly wing provides it with the latest technological achievements. wherever your adventures take you, the EVEREST# delivers a perfect all-round package that is easy to carry. The double plus stands for the second modification stage of the classic. The Everest is one of the lightest full-size paragliders in the world. The wing has a huge fan base, as this lightweight wonder also impresses with its outstanding gliding and climbing characteristics. The wing is designed for tough alpine use, but has been deliberately designed for everyday use. A few extra grams of weight have been accepted in favor of optimum durability. True to the motto of “making the best even better”, the new EVEREST+ version outdoes itself and is in a class of its own. Of course, the aim of the upgrade was not only to maintain the basic characteristics, but also to improve them – which has definitely been achieved with the double plus: the canopy is now even more compact and works less than the plus and remains calm even in turbulent conditions. However, if pressure equalization is required, the extremely lightweight canopy opens quickly yet smoothly. In addition, the wing hardly turns at all, even with heavy rattling, which is a particular safety advantage when flying close to rocks in the Alps. What remains is the fine and direct handling with short control travel and precise reactions of the wing, which is easy to turn. But there is also a double plus in terms of take-off characteristics. The lightweight canopy climbs easily to the pilot’s zenith even in zero wind and offers absolutely easy take-off behavior, even in demanding alpine conditions.
Innovations
everest#: Built for the pure hunger for experience
Chief designer Ernst Strobl has opted for a new line geometry with three sheathed main lines for the upgrade. This not only ensures easier handling when launching off-road and when putting on the ears, but also has a very positive effect on the overall flight characteristics. At the same time, 12m of lines have been saved, which together with the smaller diameters results in approx. 8% less line resistance. A and B line attachment points are completely suspended from the profile, which saves V-rib material and increases the weight distribution per line attachment on the profile. The modified wing pre-tensioning and the lighter Precision Profile Nose (PPN) ensure optimum airflow around the profile. Elaborate recalculations of the cross-ventilation using the High Pressure Crossport Design (HPCD) help the wing to achieve a balanced internal pressure.
Material
Morpheus NG: High-quality workmanship for maximum durability
In the material mix of the EVEREST+, particular emphasis was placed on durability and profile fidelity and not just on weight reduction. Instead, the focus was on the proven long-term durability of the materials. The lightweight Dokdo 10D material used has a double-sided coating and is not only the lightest material on the market, but also superior to conventional materials in terms of porosity. The design is deliberately limited to the highly stressed front area of the upper sail, where the hard-wearing Dokdo 20 is used.
